great job, wildcats! our school community worked hard during the summer to get the school prepared for the department of public health & safety inspections. luis p. untalan middle school achieved less than 10 demerits to get a grade of "A" for this year's inspection! thank you, wildcats, for all the hard work to improve our grade from a B, which we have had for the past several years.

this past july, 45 volunteers made up of parents, students, community partners (21st CAB Aerial Expeditionary Wing, Medical Readiness Detachment) cleaned, painted, and brightened our school in preparation for the school opening. we appreciate and thank you, volunteers!

WEREAD. LITERACY PROGRAM—on august 7, the school community gathered for an all-day professional development session at the tasi ballroom of the nikko hotel to launch an innovative literacy initiative set to begin at LPUMS this year. madrid borja, an 8th-grade reading teacher and program coordinator, developed the WeRead. literacy program and secured a four-year grant under the comprehensive literacy state development (CLSD) program. the initial phase of WeRead. focuses on preparing the school community for successful implementation. along with 8th grade language arts teacher and assistant coordinator, haane leon guerrero, mrs. borja led the school community through several engaging presentations and breakout sessions. instructional coaches patrick lujan and melissa duenas also assisted with breakout sessions. WeRead. WeConnect. WeShare.

(2/20/24) the 8th grade students will be taking their high school placement test on march 5 and 6 at the library. students will be scheduled to test according to their high school district and will be assigned one class/period to complete each test.

The 3 finalists that were chosen by the PTO executives. please vote for the design that you would like to see waving at the front of our school and at school events. you may only vote for one design, and you may only vote once. keep in mind that these designs are to serve as inspiration for the graphic artist who will digitize the final version for printing. the deadline to vote is 5pm 4/16/23. login into your gdoe account and click here to vote.

SY 2021-2022 LPUMS PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE INFORMATION (TEAM LIONS)
Parent-teacher conference has been scheduled for Monday, November 1, 2021, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm. Team Lions will be holding PTC virtually (Zoom) or via phone call. Virtual PTC will be held through Zoom from 8 am – 12 pm. Parents/guardians will schedule their time slots through the website. Those who choose to hold PTC via phone call will contact the school using our phone number extensions. Please note we will be taking phone calls from 12 pm – 1 pm.
